KTB partnering with Rebuilding Together/City of Thornton,
Keep Thornton Beautiful partnered with Rebuilding Together and the City of Thornton
on October 3, 2009 to help a family in Thornton. Their house was in need of many repairs.
Our group, KTB, coordinated about 25 volunteers for the day to fix fences, paint inside and out, build handrails for their safety and put in a new tub surround, not to mention many other cosmetic repairs that were made to the home that day.
This is our 3rd project of this nature. KTB plans on participating in this event each year. We are always looking for motivated individuals that would like to help a family in need and give back to the community. This event usually happens in the Fall.
KTB City Clean Up Day.
Keep Thornton Beautiful had their first city clean up day on October 6, 2007.
We had over 100 volunteers picking up litter that day. We had local groups,
school classes, boy scouts, community leaders and many individuals participating
in the clean up event. There were several bags of litter and an assortment of
old furniture hauled away that day.
We have had one other clean up event since that first one. Our goal is to have a city wide clean up each year. The next day as you drove through the city there was a visible difference in the way the streets of Thornton looked.
We are always looking for concerned citizens who want to help make a difference in their community.
Look for our next event in the Spring.
Litter Clean Up Day
KTB did a litter clean day with the local cub scout troop pack 89, Den 1
on October 18, 2008. The boys got together with some of their family
member and helped to pick up litter in the Thornton area that day.
They not only made a difference in the look of the city, they were also
are able earn a conservation badge.
